JACK DOWNING THE LUNATIC MEMOIRS explores the deceptions of humanism, politics, and society from the mind of a wealthy and charismatic sociopath as he strategically propels his way to the nation's most powerful position.

***This memoir has been printed in the original raw format as penned by The Lunatic to keep the veracity of his madness intact...

Convinced that God has chosen him to be “The One”, the wealthiest man in the world sets out to kill off all of mankind. As he begins to carry out the plan of extinction, and with only one year left to do so, The Lunatic begins to write on how he became God’s chosen one.

On the outside, the publicly respected Lunatic is charming and charismatic, but unbeknownst to the world around him, The Lunatic is secretly descending into violent madness.

When I received the book "Jack Downing: The Lunatic Memoirs" by author Thatcher C. Nalley in exchange for my honest review, I was quite pleasantly surprised at the refreshingly unique way this book reads. The way the author crafted this story makes it seem quite like a thrill-ride at an amusement park. I read on my phone a lot, so the stylized formatting of this book reads like being on a roller coaster... I had no control and couldn't avoid going over the next hill or... flipping to the next page!

The story is written from Jack's disturbed perspective and of his dark thoughts, in such a way that really gives it a unique style all its own. The character Jack Downing is masterfully written, and I found myself wanting help him and then kill him at several points in the story. As one reviewer stated "He is a sickeningly smart and devious" and another said "His thoughts make us wanna help him", and I couldn't agree more. This author created a character that is such a monster, he pulls you in several directions at once, ever so cleverly almost making you feel he could be right... Then you catch yourself... That is just so wickedly wrong!... ;)

This is an amazing story and a real page turner with one climactic twist after another drawing you closer to the end. Speaking of the end; I didn't even realize I was getting close until I was already there... Talk about getting engrossed in a good book! What an intense ride! I loved it!

Jack Downing The Lunatic Memoirs eBook Thatcher C Nalley Reviews

Really wasn't a bad story once I got the hang of how it was written. It kept interested, yet I did get confused in a few places.
I expected something else completely. I finished this book in a couple of hours. It kept me somewhat interested. I kept reading because I was expecting something big to happen in the next moment. But, around every corner was another let down. It just never really took off. I wished I hadn't wasted .99 cents on it
Told in prose, this work makes for a quick read. It delves into some chilling psyche and makes one question if thus is how the creepiest of mankind really thinks. I'm not sure what I'd do if I ran into someone like this.. *shudders*
This is definitely an interesting book, although quite unusual. The style is a little hard to get used to at first but once you do, it starts to flow fairly nicely. There are enough twists in the storytelling to keep the reading lively but the ending, unexpected as it was, didn't really seem to fit with the rest of the story. Overall I enjoyed it but I think it ought to have ended differently.
The first thing you notice about this book is that it is not your usual layout. It is written somewhat like poems. I believe that this strategy by the writer is very efficient and adds to the character's personality. It reflects to us that just as the lines cut off and so forth such is the mind of the lunatic. We become intrigued by Jack and as the book goes on we are anxious to know more about him. Jack presents this haunted persona who we absolutely cannot get enough of.His thoughts make us wanna help him so much and in turn we become attached and eager to see how he progresses in the story.

What I love most about this book is how different it is and how intriguing it is without bordering insanity. This book is a true work of art; expertly written and carefully thought out with an amazing character.
I don't even know how I found this book or this Author but I am SO very glad that I did. This was hands down the most interesting and captivating story I read in 2014. The format of the book is nothing like I've ever seen...it was a strange read but actually gave insight on a lot of things in a very unorthodox way. I love how the story unfolds and we see Jack from the end and end up back at his roots and how he came to be what he was...the Chosen one was he. I am looking forward to reading more from this Author.
Wow, that one is a little something. Maybe you're not sure how this journey starts when you just start reading the book, but after you make it to the finish you certainly won't believe where you end up. One twist after another and what an ending!

The title character, as the title says, in an absolute lunatic, and crazy sociopath who won't be stopped by anything on his way to what he thinks is his destiny, chosen for him by the God himself. And this is a short story worth of a lifetime, and it just makes you wonder, how many people around us think of themselves as the Chosen Ones and how many of them are ready to go THAT far.
