Jina was a half wolf shifter - except that she couldn’t shift. She fled the safety of her pack after the death of her father – except the pack was no longer safe for her. She wanted to make a new life on her own although lone wolves never survived long when away from the pack. Life was going to be a big challenge but when she finally landed a job and met her true mate, the real challenge was to begin. Would she be able to spend her life with her true mate or would an Alpha challenge set her future down a road she never wanted to take.

The Alpha Challenge eBook Trisha Hinchliffe

I liked the basic story, but the “gazillion” typos and grammar errors made it necessary to stop and decipher what was going on and who was speaking. Many paragraphs switched between points of view making it difficult to follow who was saying or thinking what and I felt the characters and their situations lacked development.

I believe if this author would develop a timeline to follow for her story it would have read far better than it did. The prologue of the main character’s mother speaking to her as a child doesn’t have a point were the story is concerned and could have been used to explain why she left her pack or how she came to be in her current situation. Additionally, she is wondering why things aren’t progressing as if significant time has passed when at the same time the author tells you she is coming up to her first weekend off—ergo she just met the guy five days ago.

We are to believe this woman is a survivor of extreme abuse and neglect while at the same time we are to believe she is an alpha female capable of single handedly whipping an alpha male and her response to the out-of-line drunk was so out of proportion to the situation. No one who experienced such poor treatment and who was supposedly smart would go around announcing to everyone that she has a fortune either.

Finally, no explanation for pack alpha Alex’s attitude and behavior was given; however, after our main character makes a public display of rudeness back at him, he suddenly welcomes her with open arms and changed attitude? When did our hero say he didn’t want to be pack alpha? What happened to the former alpha's bad guys, did they also just suddenly change? This story will leave you wondering and full of questions.

The Alpha Challenge eBook Trisha Hinchliffe Reviews

An exciting and fun read. Hot romance and hot action. If you are looking for a semi-short fun read look no further for in this book you have found it! I can honestly say that this is a book worth buying for an enjoyable read, and in my opinion the romance was served up perfectly, sexy without straying over the line into porn.
It was a good read. The wording is different, I think because the author isn't American. But still understandable. Good love story along with action and a little comedy as well.
I really liked the characters and the plot. I really enjoyed what jina did for Matt, read and you will understand;). However I did not like the spelling and grammar mistakes. Also how the writer wrote Alex when talking about Matt. Matt is Jina's mate and Alex is Matt's brother. So when it read jina cuddled with Alex I had to read it over and over. It was as if to separate people wrote it and didn't talk. Plus not really that huge but it read jina through almost the whole book then near the end it said Gina???? That is a ridiculous mistake, seriously was the book edited. (Sorry for not capitalizing jina) Other than the stupid errors I loved the storyline.
This book is written from a British voice, so I take that into account when I say that it still needs editing. The author changes verb tenses mid sentence, has silly typos and some really awkward sentences. The plot itself was decent, although I would have liked more depth and detail on the background of the heroine. The rest of the main characters could have used some more development also. I guess that would be my summation, less sex detail, more character development and plot detail. Otherwise, the bones of a good story are there.

Heat factor hot.
I tried, but couldn't finish. Reading this felt like pulling teeth; I've read textbooks that were less painful. It feels forced and the characters feel shallow and fake. There are zero conversations that are natural between the characters. I wanted to feel bad for the main character, but she was so undeveloped that I couldn't find any empathy or sympathy for her. Would not recommend to anyone.
This is a nice book, an entertaining werewolf romance with a very independent and proactive heroine with a sweet male hero that acts as alpha when needed but not in their relationship...
but I have to agree with many of the other reviewers The problem is the writing..too many tipping mistakes, errors in the names .. disconnected and repetitive paragraphs turns the story in something very distracting to be read..
Still, the storyline was fun ( got me smiling in several points ), all the flirting between Matt and Jina and the secondary characters are great too. This is one of those stories where you have happy endings for everyone so it is a very good choice for those dates when you want a comforting read.
Jina has had a very rough life since the death of her mother. Thankfully her mother was not ruled by her love for Josh, Jina's father. Upon her death she left Jina the funds to look after herself and live a fulfilling life. The only thing Jina can't do is shift, due to her mother being human, hence the reason Josh would not claim her as his daughter.
By leaving her pack she is able to grow and seek a life she wants. She meets Matt who is a very nice man and treats her with respect. She is drawn to him but not sure why.
Matt sees Jina and senses she is his mate. When Nina explains to him why she left her pack, Matt finds out that Jina can not shift. He accepts her none the less and Jina believes things will be ok.
Matt's brother Alex is alpha to the pack and has proposed to make an alliance with Jina's old pack. Jina now worries that old problems will arise when they visit her old pack.
A good shifter read with a twist not seen before.
